Go Beauty & Soft Touch Wellbeing, Health, Wellness and Detox Studio Review

June 9, 2017

This is not your standard beauty review. I was recently asked by Go Beauty to review Soft Touch Wellbeing,Health Wellness and Detox Studio. The Port Elizabeth based studio specializes in natural holistic and alternative treatments.

Go Beauty

Nicknamed, the Uber for Beauty, the Go Beauty app and website is designed to make your life simpler. GoBeauty started as a service on the cellular app WeChat. If you’re like me, and never really got into WeChat, you’ll be happy to know that Go Beauty now also has a website, where you can do your bookings. Sign up is super easy as you can use your Facebook account, which is what I did.

Whether you need a manicure, pedicure or massage, all you need to do is type in the treatment you need, where you are and Bob’s your uncle. The app and website pulls up a list of salons, spas and studios that offer the service you need in the area that you are in. All you need to do is select a service provider, the treatment and time or date. The service provide will then call you back, or message you to confirm the appointment or suggest an alternative time or date. Sounds easy, right?

My phone is broken and I’m currently using a back up phone that does not have enough space for more than 4 apps and it’s memory is slower than Windows 95. So downloading the app was out of the question for me. The website is easy and simple to navigate. I easily setup my account and popped Usha of Soft Touch Wellbeing a message. Usha got back into contact with me and we decided on a time and date.

Soft Touch Wellbeing, Health, Wellness and Detox Studio

Situated in the central suburb of Newton Park, Soft Touch Wellbeing,Health Wellness and Detox Studio is a beauty salon that focuses on holistic health. The studio was previously in 4th Avenue, but Usha had decided to scale down the business. Since September 2016 the studio has been situated in a cosy space at 39 Gerald street, Newton Park and she is now the only therapist. Despite being a stone’s throw from 3rd Ave, the large garden on the premises is very calm and relaxing.

As I’ve never been to a holistic salon or spa before, I didn’t know what to expect from the treatments offered at the studio. So I decided to have a chat with Usha first and out more about her studio. Usha has been specialising in holistic treatments for 16 years and swears by the treatments that she offers. And they clearly work, she looks 20 years younger than her actual age!

Massages and more

Massages are the most popular treatments at Soft Touch Wellbeing. The Meridian Massage is the most popular of the massages. It clears blockages and balance the body’s meridians. This massage is said to help achieve wellness in your body. According to Usha, when she massages a client, she tries to find the cause of any aches and pains her clients may have. She also offers reiki, bamboo and lymphatic massages as well as may others.

What I found most interesting was the crystal treatments and the salt lamps she had on sale (pictured in the header). We ended up doing an impromptu Angel reading, which is also one of the services Soft Touch Wellbeing offers, and I found the results to be quite fascinating. I won’t be sharing the reading, as I feel that it’s kind of personal and I’m still wrapping my head around it. It is also quite clear that Usha is quite passionate about her treatments and helping her clients. So it comes as no surprise to me that Soft Touch Wellbeing has a 5 out of 5 star rating on Go Beauty.

I plan on returning to Soft Touch Wellbeing to experience one of their massages. I’ll keep you updated when I do. For more information on this salon visit the Go Beauty site or app.
